Grief. It thought I knew about it. But, I didn't. It has a new face. My father died, my grandparents died, my mother died, my sister died. Now my son has died. All the grief rolled up into one - then multiplied by a factor of 100 - maybe that's close.
From a pamphlet published online: http://ambulance.nsw.gov.au/health-public-affairs/publications/suicide/foldercontents.pdf
One surviving mother says
“We survivors are like amputees. We know that a part of ourselves is
gone but our minds and our bodies haven’t compensated for this loss
yet. So we have to rehabilitate like the amputee and accept that we do
it in stages, over time. Be fair on ourselves by knowing that we will
have to do some of our living differently using what we have left.”

Grieving
Memories
The memories! The good, the bad, the ugly!
As a child, Brian used to say that he had an i-good-dea! He also said that he put things in his remembery - - -
He loved words and did a lot of writing throughout his life: journaling, creative writing, and press releases for new products from his company.
When he was around 4, Brian had an imaginary friend named Frank. One day at the park, he wouldn't let us sit in the swing next to him because that's where Frank was swinging.

Beginning
Today is March 18, 2008. In two days it will be five months since Brian passed away. The idea for a blog or web page for Brian came to me one day when I was searching the internet and put his name in the search engine. It came up with several hits, mostly to do with his work. The internet was a big part of Brian's life and it seemed fitting to continue his presence on the web. He did much of his professional work on the computer and he also did a lot of socializing and communicating on the internet.
I hope that Brian's family and others who knew him will feel free to comment, to share their thoughts and memories - as well as any others who feel moved by his life and legacy.
