Brian and Music

Brian loved music! It's always been a part of his life since Mom and Dad sang lullaby's to him as a baby. As a child he loved Popcorn Popping on the Apricot Tree, Eencey Weency Spider and especially Jingle Bells. At age 4, Dad graduated from college and we drove to Arlington, Texas for his first out of college job. As we drove into town, Karen and David were asleep in the back seat and Brian was sitting in front between Mom and Dad. All three of us were in awe as we drove into the city, wondering what our new life was going to be like, where we would live, what adventures were ahead. Out of the blue, Brian started singing Jingle Bells. It brought us back to earth, back to the familiar, the present moment and the realization that we were a family together and would support and love each other through our new experiences.

I remember . . . .

Brian was a cub scout. He was about ten years old when we lived in Colorado. His Cub Master had a pilot's license and a small airiplane. He took Brian and one of the other boys up in the plane one afternoon. Brian took over the controls for a short period of time and "waved" as he flew over our house. He was thrilled!
